Why don't we feel the earth spinning?

We don't feel it because we spin too. The ground carries our feet. The air comes along. Like riding smoothly in a car.

We do not feel Earth spinning because everything around us is moving with it: the ground, the trees, the oceans, and the air. It is very smooth, so our bodies do not notice it. It is like sitting in a car going steadily down a smooth road. You feel the car start, stop, or bump, not the quiet moving.

Earth spins, but we spin with it. Gravity, the pull that keeps us on the ground, holds us to Earth. The air also turns with Earth, so it is not rushing past us all the time. Our bodies mostly feel changes in motion, called acceleration, like speeding up, slowing down, or turning. Earth’s spin is very steady, so we do not notice it. Fun fact: near the equator, Earth carries you around at about 1,670 kilometers per hour!
