What are clouds made of?

Clouds are tiny water drops. They float because they are very light. Some are tiny ice bits. Together, they look soft and white.

Clouds are made of tiny drops of water, and sometimes tiny bits of ice. Warm wet air goes up, then cools down. The water in the air squeezes into little drops, like mist on a bathroom mirror. Lots of those drops together make a cloud we can see.

Clouds are made of millions of tiny water droplets and sometimes ice crystals. Water vapor, which is water in the air like an invisible gas, rises with warm air. Higher up, the air is colder, so the vapor condenses, meaning it changes into tiny drops around specks of dust. A cloud may look fluffy, but it is wet. Fun fact: a big cloud can hold enough water to weigh as much as many elephants.
